Marcasite Cabochon

Marcasite is an agate with iron plumes and inclusions suspended in Quartz.  It tends to be quite solid, takes an excellent polish and is well known for working into some captivating designer grade cabochons. There is very little marcasite on the market currently that compares. That, in addition to the extra toxicity level to cutters, makes this a special agate to come across polished.
