Nipomo Marcasite Cabochon

Nipomo Marcasite is an old stock agate with iron plumes and inclusions suspended in Quartz. This beauty was once found around Nipomo, California.  It tends to be quite solid and takes an excellent polish and is well known for working into some captivating designer grade cabochons. There is very little marcasite on the market currently that compares. That, in addition to the extra toxicity level to cutters, makes this a special agate to come across polished.
