Australian Opal is one of the most widely produced opal around, accounting for 95% of todays opal supply. These are some of the oldest opals known and were first mined back in the summer of 1889. Unlike Welo Opal's, these are not hydrophane and can withstand being submerged without risk of crazing or losing color, although its not recommended to dunk your opals. 🤓
